Day Of Doom-The Gates Of Hell (2015)

I feel like this album sounds a bit like a cross between Deicide and Autopsy.For the most part it works quite well with their vicious guitar harmony. The riffs on this album at times attain monstrous proportions and there really isn’t a bad song here. Whatever the future of this band is, i'm looking forward to hear what they can do next, as a metalhead I’m ok with this album. The style take the band in a challenging direction while remaining true to the death metal roots.

Destroying Divinity-Hollow Dominion (2015)

Straightforward death metal. Features a conventional use of song structures and riffs especially technical but their punch and aggressiveness made everyone’s day. There is not one good reason to hate this if you are into death metal, that's for sure. It’s undeniable that they have a new level of complexity too, riffing is syncopated and attractive. All of this happens without compromising the evil and accelerated climate that governs their music, lower tones in guitars may not be a synonym of heaviness but it darkens enormously songs. Fast paced tremolo riffs. Production is polished, guitar distortion is not so raw but is still sharp and mindblowing. Bass guitar sounds louder, not as loud and crunchy as on the classic bands as Cannibal Corpse or Suffocation but it still adds some extra heaviness to the guitar riffs, which slay always.The last thing I want to point out is the drumming, a demolishing performance as well. Not bad at all !!

Deep In Hate-Chronicles Of Oblivion (2014)

What does it take to start out a band? Skill? Composition? Bad-assery? Probably. Now of course, the second track doesn't make up the whole album but that's not even where it stops. I kept getting hit with tasty melodies, solos, and riffs. The only thing I might have a slight issue with is with the coarse vocals and mid tempos, but this is a new band, so I'll cut them some slack. I can tell you this is a band that has an idea of what they're doing as far as melodic death goes, to go even as far as to say that they're a example of newer, more modern melodic death metal bands to come around with this album. I have high hopes for them in the future, i guess the only thing that might turn people away is the mid tempos, so I guess if that's not your style, avoid this album. They did definitely hit the right spot with the instruments and melody and Skill Musicianship, but that's about it for me !

Deaprtment Of Correction/Agathocles Split Ep (2014)

Here with have a split cd featuring Department Of Correction and Agathocles, Now it is time for both bands to share a record together, however that this cd only features short songs. Obviously we’re talking fast furious grindcore here with not much room left for breakdowns, D-beat parts or whatever, first band "Department Of Correction” is of course pure and brutal Grindcore, blastspeed all the way, emphasis is on short grinding songs, my favorite track" The Tank is in the Garden" erupts into pure musical violence. Agathocles only presents one track, but it’s fun hearing the band at their most heavy, doom death metal. In conclusion , this is furious. For collectors with an historical sense it is a must have. Department Of Correction and Agathocles on one EP. Enough said. Check this out !

DeadHorse-Loaded Gun (2014)

This goes back to the days when i discovered Dead Horse , now i'm glad i received this copy for review in 2015. Many times I found albums that turned out to be classic records, and all too many that we're very disappointing as well. This is a great surprise from hearing DeadHorse after so many years, somewhere between Thrash metal, speed metal and Hardcore Punk. DeadHorse pushed the aggression and originality a bit more in the early days . I guess the music here reflects their attitudes and their desire to rebel against the typical metal image. DeadHorse is something new and original. "Loaded Gun" does not try to surprise or trick the listener with flashy time changes or experimental songwriting. I don't want to make the band sound simplistic, but I believe the power of their music lies in their ability to get in and out of fast songs. DeadHorse has a straight forward style, and what they lacked in technical ability they more than made up for in energy. Songs like "Train Ride", the classic "World War Wathever" or "Forgive"and the title track thrash it out,  It has an unforgettable dual guitar riffs that leads into a heavy mid speed chugging that will make your neck sore by the end of each song. DeadHorse is back. Highly recommended!!!

Begrabnis/Estrangement (Split cd 2014)

This split cd features only one song of each band, and it's really hard for me to review only one tune, btw i can say there is definitely a "doomed" vibe present here, in as much as each succeeding cut burrows deeper into evocations of the destruction wrought by total war, and the inevitable and ensuing aftermath of hunger, desolation, and hopelessness. As for the tracks themselves, what you get here is with Begrabnis is a trebly, overdriven, and primitively produced ordinance dump of 16 rpm riffs, grunted vocals, delivered at the irnoic pace of a funeral procession. It's basically two riffs, repeated three times each, though it takes 9 minutes and 55 seconds to do so, a masterful evocation of chilling winter winds. It's dense.
Estrangement has an obvious and indisputable influence on all succeeding genres of "doom", especially "death/doom" and "funeral" doom. Here, we will find a trace of "poetic melancholy", complete with whispered narration,droning violins and brutal vocals. This is strictly metal in conception and execution, regardless of its novel properties. However you will certainly feel obliged to own this. Eternal frost, indeed !

Funeral Moth-Dense Fog (2014)

Funeral Doom Metal from Japan?? Yes. Everything works here: the hypnotic guitars, the seemingly tired drumming, the strange, somewhat muddy production (that seems to give it all a dark aura ), everything comes together to create a depressive mood. Unsurprisingly, the lyrics are in Japanese as well. Everything's hopeless here and the music makes sure to let you know about it. There's no room for other emotions, like anger, happiness or even that highly dramatic, screaming sorrow. The elements in their sound express a wider range of emotions and it makes you appreciate these little things a bit more. Their music is fkn intense, heavy and dark. Check it out !
