Insult - Reside Infernus (2025)

I can say this entire album is packed with passionate energy and it is also fairly diverse; you’ve got your thrasher songs, heavy set, and the in between which shares both the thrash and heavy characteristics. This album certainly keeps the new thrash elements but it just doesn’t click with me unless I happen to be in a right mood. Overall, this is a rather good performance.It has good, fervent, strenuous, and enthusiastic songs. If you decide to purchase it, go for it.

Ignitor - Horns and Hammers (2024)

So what can one expect from Ignitor on this album? Well, it is obvious is heavily entrenched in Euro Power Metal, but there is a heavy German Speed Metal influence as well. The music itself isn’t the most original but the production and vocals really give Ignitor their own feel. Given the title "Horns and Hammers", you would be right in assuming this is Power Metal, While I really like it when Ignitor play fast, the vocals and arrangements are very pleasing on the slower (but not slow per-se) tracks; many memorable vocal lines are present, with quality drumming, guitar work, and bass work, double bass monsters with aggressive guitars and killer choruses all the way. As mentioned, the production is rather unique. I can’t quite explain it, but the feeling created seems very metallic in nature and somewhat raw, yet still clear. The bass sound is really cool, and the drums sound nice and real, while being at a good mix level. The vocals are solid as well. He sings with both a higher pitched style, and a more toned down aggressive style. Either way Jason can really wail, and he can also soar when needed, all of which is done with a lot of emotion. There are no filler tracks on here; I enjoyed every one of them. Not one song sounds the same, as the arrangements are very clever and thought-out. I recommend this release to any fan of German Power or Speed Metal, especially if you’re one of those people who prefer no keyboards in their Power Metal.

Night Attack - Necromancer (2025)

This release is bit different than the last one in terms of sound, but still contains the usual band's approach, characterized by Verigo’s signature vocal style, the guitar playing style takes significant German thrash influences instead of the more usual black metal sound, the result is a mix that has never failed to impress me. A closer look reveals that the album is composed of a series of fast-paced black/thrash hybrid songs which are all very good, blistering heaviness, and impeccable riffage. What more do you need?, this is mature and stylish and all you need for an exposure to good quality and in your face metal. All in all, this is one hell of a killer album which is definitely worth getting, and if you're not normally interested in Black/thrash Metal, give this one a shot, as it"s much more than being just another standard album, you'll be pleasantly surprised!!

Fondle Corpse - The Temple of Elemental Evil (2024)

If you’ve not yet heard of Fondle Corpse, go and get "The Temple of elemental Evil", this 7" Ep is made up of two well constructed and brutal compositions, And for all the wonders this Ep has to offer, it is spectacular, each song feels unique and perfectly combines a lot of moments and elements, they feel dark yet fast and energetic, it has a direct approach and although it's good its noticeable the Swedish guitar tone influence. Fuck, "Wraith Rider" hits that one-two punch of killer riffs and Silvester Goregnome just bellowing his lungs out. This track is insanely catchy. This Ep is basically psycho-addictive. Headbangable riffage and a raw primal swagger that runs a gauntlet of styles and tones with ease, the residual after-effect equivalent to several tons of pure cocaine. Personally speaking, since i got this gem a few months ago, I've listened to it pretty much non-stop and will forever do so !!

Order of the Dead - Captives (2025)

The album starts out with "Into Nothing", bringing you a dark lead guitar riff with a fast rhythm guitar and good drum fills. The main riff of this song then starts and then comes the vocals, another addition to the sinister sound of the track. Every aspect of this album is interesting, because all of the musicians on this album are filled with talent. The vocals has a very raspy voice and it works well here. He often sounds like he is snarling, as he fades from higher screams to lower growls. His uniqueness adds a lot of depth to the album and his style compliments the styles of both the guitars and the drums.

"Captives" manages to be sophisticated both musically and lyrically while staying coherent and interesting, which is a testament to the musicianship of everyone involved. I believe anyone who is a fan of this style of music, or even a fan of music in general, should give it a listen.

Mourning - Mourning the new Dawn (2010)

Mean rhythmic stomps are a bit of a free roller coaster ride and everybody's invited, and when it isn't those massive slow-mo grooves the track will move to a nice skank beat iteration to balance things out. As the listener, you know they're coming but it doesn't make them any less effective when each new version of the formula mixes up the recipe to bring a different twist every time. The composition remains very much true to the band's identity. The technical and mathy enough to keep those neurons engaged and practice their skills and muscles as accomplished musicians. This stuff can sometimes sound like a drill session, with each instrumentalist sharpening their tool and getting the juices going - So as mentioned, this one has quite a few sticky riffs. Everyone will have their own favorite, but it's hard not to enjoy the vicious pissed off  'Eve of Annihilation' a track in pure hyper contagious groove to start, the more technical second part, and the sinister trem-picked section later - all receiving top grades for catchiness. The intimidating 'Human Extintion' is just as heavy and catchy. Everything is done well here, and granted it is a more polished version of the band when compared to their earlier, rawer stuff but it's tighter and more expertly crafted.

Mourning - Blinded by Hate (2004)

Intensity and technique. I can say the main characteristic of this group is the skill in creating catchy sounds through blasting violence and terrific technique.The production is clear and sharper. The drummer's work has lots of tempos changes, while the guitars are restless.The vocals are extreme that goes from growls to screams, a lot of crunchy riffs, brutal stuff...all in this good album. It is very rare to listen to the same tempos for more than few seconds and in one song you can find even 15 different structures. Good technical brutality. Support this band and and Destroy All Opposition!!
